Social hierarchy promotes the cooperation prevalence

چکیده

Social hierarchy is important that can not be ignored in human socioeconomic activities and the animal world. Here we incorporate this factor into evolutionary game to see what impact it could have on cooperation outcome. The probabilistic strategy adoption between two players then only determined by their payoffs, but also difference -- high rank are more likely reproduce strategies than peers low rank. Through simulating evolution of Prisoners' dilemma with three hierarchical distributions, find levels enhanced all cases, enhancement optimal uniform case. due fact presence facilitates formation clusters high-rank acting as nucleation cores. This mechanism remains valid Barab\'asi-Albert scale-free networks, particular maximal when hubs higher social ranks. We study a two-hierarchy model, where similar promotion revealed some theoretical analyses provided. Our finding may partially explain why so ubiquitous planet.

Social diversity promotes cooperation in spatial multigames

Social diversity is omnipresent in the modern world. Here we introduce this diversity into spatial multigames and study its impact on the evolution of cooperation. Multigames are characterized by two or more different social dilemmas being contested among players in the population. When a fraction of players plays the prisoner’s dilemma game while the remainder plays the snowdrift game cooperat...

Onymity promotes cooperation in social dilemma experiments

One of the most elusive scientific challenges for over 150 years has been to explain why cooperation survives despite being a seemingly inferior strategy from an evolutionary point of view. Over the years, various theoretical scenarios aimed at solving the evolutionary puzzle of cooperation have been proposed, eventually identifying several cooperation-promoting mechanisms: kin selection, direc...

The Increased Risk of Joint Venture Promotes Social Cooperation

The joint venture of many members is common both in animal world and human society. In these public enterprizes, highly cooperative groups are more likely to while low cooperative groups are still possible but not probable to succeed. Existent literature mostly focuses on the traditional public goods game, in which cooperators create public wealth unconditionally and benefit all group members u...

Wisdom of groups promotes cooperation in evolutionary social dilemmas

Whether or not to change strategy depends not only on the personal success of each individual, but also on the success of others. Using this as motivation, we study the evolution of cooperation in games that describe social dilemmas, where the propensity to adopt a different strategy depends both on individual fitness as well as on the strategies of neighbors. Regardless of whether the evolutio...

Reacting differently to adverse ties promotes cooperation in social networks.

We investigate how diversity in individual responses to unwanted interactions affects the evolution of cooperation modeled as a 2-person prisoner's dilemma. We combine adaptive networks and evolutionary game theory, showing analytically how the coevolution of social dynamics, network dynamics, and behavioral differences benefit the entire community even though myopic individuals still act in th...
